Part 1

Find the manipulative:

Ask the student to write on the card
      1 of 2, 4, or 8
followed by the fraction that represents the slice.

These are "divisions" or "cuts" that transform into fractions.

Keep these on the table as a reference.

Part 2

Ask to count the slices.

Ask the student to explain why the portions are not the same.

Part 3

Build equivalent slices, 1 on the left should be equal several on the right.

Part 4

Important: First write down the piece count at bottom of each circle.

Then figure out the equivalent fractions using the count.
